Discovering Costa Rica and Manuel Antonio
Manuel Antonio is situated on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, about 132 kilometers (82 miles) south of the capital, San Jose.
SJO international airport which is located about 2.5 hrs from Manuel Antonio. Your concierge will help to procure a shuttle or car rental.
Manuel Antonio is a beach AND rainforest destination, so prepare for both. A pair of sandals and a pair of hiking shoes or sneakers will be helpful. Overall, Costa Rica is a very casual country, so you don't need to over-pack. Light, comfortable clothing and basics like sunscreen and bug spray should do the trick!
Manuel Antonio National Park, on Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast, encompasses rugged rainforest, white-sand beaches and coral reefs. It’s renowned for its vast diversity of tropical plants and wildlife, from three-toed sloths and endangered white-faced capuchin monkeys to hundreds of bird species. The park’s roughly 680 hectares are crossed with hiking trails, which meander from the coast up into the mountains.
The dry season is from December to end of April as the weather is generally sunny and rainfall is minimal.
While the beaches are generally safe, it's important to be cautious of strong currents and follow any posted warnings.
The nearest Golf Course is locate in Los Sueños, which is located about 1 hr and 20 minutes north of Manuel Antonio.
We try to minimize the trash and impact on the environment and the wildlife in the park, and kindly ask all visitors to contribute. FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED. You can only bring natural drinks or water in recycled bottles.
Yes, Manuel Antonio boasts beautiful beaches such as Playa Espadilla and Playa Manuel Antonio, ideal for swimming and relaxing. Playa Biezans is also a great option for families.
There are more than 24 different tours and activities in the area such as, zip-lining, white water rafting, sportfishing, mangrove tours, waterfalls, ATV’s , Catamaran, Sailboats, Jet Skis, hikes in the National Park, canyoning, rappelling and many more.

The water is potable in most of the country. However, we recommend bottled water to avoid unpleasant surprises.
